Paul Jermyn, Guitarist, Singer/Songwriter from Cavan Town,
Paul will perform sets from his new album. Paul covers a wide variety of music styles from screaming lead solos to subtle acoustic playing. "Musically I'm a bit of a Jekyll & Hyde. there is so much good music out there across all genres that it's impossible for me not to try to be able to play a little bit of everything...but it must be melody driven." There is yet another facet to Paul's music career. He is a talented songwriter/composer and has collaborated & played on numerous Rock, Folk & Traditional recordings including the critically acclaimed "This Town" which helped to co-write with Gerry Henderson. He is a widely respected and experienced studio musician and continues work with producer Peter Keenan of Stockton’s Wing Fame. This has earned him many admirers in the Contemporary Irish song-writing & music scene. Paul is a member of The Registry of Guitar Tutors and lives in Haworth, West Yorkshire with his wife Alison & Baby Daughter, Niamh. He teaches Guitar in Keighley Musicians Centre, West Yorkshire.

3pm-4.00pm Farnham Arms Hotel Free Workshop/Recital - This event is an Introduction to ‘Starting Irish Traditional Music’ and Song, with Garry Lynch, Fermanagh (fiddle) Cathal Lynch (Tyrone) and featuring performances from local Comhaltas musicians. This Workshop introduces students to the history And practice of Irish traditional music. Students need to have no prior knowledge of the subject. They will learn about the broad spectrum of Irish traditional music and will gain valuable insights into the different aspects, approaches and regional styles involved. (Please note that this workshop does not include instrument tuition); admission is free, and all ages are welcome. :

The 'Cavan Celebration of the Music of Eddie Clarke' at the Ramor Theatre promises to be a great night of traditional music, Mick Kinsella, originally from Tullow, Co Carlow and now living in West Clare, plays harmonica and English concertina. He is a highly respected musician both in the traditional music world and also the other musical genres of jazz, blue grass, rock and blue grass.. Sean Walshe Harmonica In 1965 Sean Walshe from Donard, Co Wicklow helped and encouraged Eamonn (Eddie) to start playing the harmonica. Noel Battle from Mullingar is a 12-times All-Ireland champion on the mouthorgan, Phil Clarke,Songs,Fiddle./Cormac Murphy Accordion Aoife Geoghegan Mouthorgan Edel McWeeney, Fiddle Martin Gaffney,Flute Philip Clarke Piano Music from the Eight branches of County Cavan Comhaltas, MC Antoin Mc Gabhann, Fiddle Eamonn (Eddie) Clarke. was a master of Traditional Irish Music on the Chromatic Harmonica, his playing spanning three decades from the mid 1960s to the late 1980s. Born in Virginia, Co Cavan in 1945, he was the second of a family of five. His father Andrew Clarke, was the Principal in Virginia Boys National School and a native of Killinkere, his mother formally Mollie McGovern was from the town of Virginia. Learn how to get involved LAST CHANCE TO JOIN Comhaltas for 2010. AS part of NYAH 7 celebrations for All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil in Cavan, the members of the Junior Branch of Comhaltas in Cavan are asking the public to make sure that their televisions be turned off in favour of traditional music sessions for the afternoon... Co-operation with this eco-initiative will make sure the pictures and sounds of televisions have been replaced in many of the house’s by the more traditional scene of an impromptu music session in the backyard from 3pm to 5pm come out and support the youth . It is the Branch intention to show that we care about the environment as part of a new green approach which seeks to give a different emphasis to Comhaltas and Fleadh 2010 planning.
